Middlesbrough’s on loan Chelsea midfielder Josh McEachran is already a serious doubt for the big weekend visit to Cardiff City.
The nineteen-year-old hobbled out of England Under-21s victory against Northern Ireland last night after suffering an ankle injury at Blackpool’s Bloomfield Road. His condition will continue to be monitored over the next twenty-four hours.
Boro manager Tony Mowbray is also waiting to learn whether centre-back Jonathan Woodgate and midfielder Kevin Thomson will be involved at the weekend.
Woodgate collected a calf injury during the 3-1 win over Sheffield Wednesday on Friday evening while Thomson has recently been sidelined with a similar problem.
Longer-term casualties Rhys Williams (ankle ligaments), Mustapha Carayol and Curtis Main (both knee) and Julio Arca (toe) are still out until probably the New Year.
