Middlesbrough are represented in the latest Football League team of the week that has been selected following the clash with Leeds.

The performance by Patrick Bamford in the three nil victory over Leeds United at the weekend at the Riverside Stadium was enough to earn them a place in the side alongside the other most impressive performers in the Football League pyramid.

I think we’ll already know ourselves, and not just based on the latest performance, why Bamford was selected as part of the team but explaining the choice – the FL blurb read.

‘Speaking of trebles, that takes us to the Riverside Stadium, where Bamford got one of his own on Friday night, in what was a comfortable assignment for Boro on home turf.’

It’s always good to see the club represented in this way, and well played to Bamford for his recognition, but the most important thing about the weekend was of course the points.

Full Team:

Jason Steele (Sunderland), Kean Bryan (Oldham Athletic), Mark Ellis (Carlisle United), Brad Halliday (Cambridge United), Joe Lolley (Nottingham Forest), Stefan Johansen (Fulham), Luke Russe (Bristol Rovers), Erhun Oztumer (Walsall), Patrick Bamford (Middlesbrough), Bobby Reid (Bristol City), Sean Maguire (Preston North End).

Manager – Ritchie Wellens (Oldham Athletic).
