Garry Monk described it a “best away performance of the season” after Middlesbrough emerged victorious by a 2-1 scoreline at Sheffield Wednesday.
The Teessiders were forced to come from behind with second-half goals from Jonny Howson and Ryan Shotton eventually bringing them reward. Grant Leadbitter also missed a penalty for the visitors.
“That was our best away performance of the season and I thought it was a thoroughly deserved win,” manager Garry Monk told BBC Sport. “They are a good team with some quality players, but overall we dealt with their moments pretty well.
“We have to build on this and use it as a springboard. There are more things to work on and improve.”
