Middlesbrough’s young defender Dael Fry has signed a new five-year deal at the Riverside.
The 20-year-old already has seventeen appearances for Boro this season, mostly when introduced from the substitutes’ bench.
England Under-21 international Fry has progressed through their academy system having been with the club since the age of seven.
“He’s had a taste of the first team and he’s been in and around the squad,” manager Tony Pulis told The Northern Echo. “He knows he has a lot of hard work ahead, but this is a good opportunity for him.
“He’s a Middlesbrough lad as well, having come through our academy, and he’s a great example to other young players coming through here.”
Fry was previously a member of England Under-20s World Cup winning squad last summer.
