Middlesbrough face up to relegation-threatened Peterborough United in their latest game at the Riverside this evening.

On loan England Under-21 international Josh McEachran could return to the starting line-up following recent ankle trouble while a similar complaint rules out Emmanuel Ledesma.

Defender Stuart Parnaby may also earn a recall following a hamstring problem but Argentine midfielder Julio Arca is already likely to miss the rest of the season with a toe injury.

Despite their recent dismal form, Boro might actually move within just three points of the play-offs with victory tonight and manager Tony Mowbray still wasn’t giving up hope.

“We just have to win games, simple as that,” he told the Evening Gazette. “But we’re finding it difficult to win football matches at the moment so let’s wait and see what the final seven games bring. We need to win games because draws aren’t any good to us at the moment.”

Posh have a doubt over midfielder Michael Bostwick due to a hamstring strain while Alex Pritchard (ankle) is already out. On loan midfielder Florent Cuvelier could therefore earn a debut.
