Middlesbrough have failed in an appeal against winger Adama Traore’s three-match suspension.

The 21-year-old Spaniard was sent-off inside five minutes of facing former club Aston Villa in midweek.

An FA independent regulatory commission upheld the original decision after rejecting Boro’s subsequent appeal.

However, Villa’s Henri Lansbury, who was also dismissed during the same contest, has escaped a ban after the FA accepted their version of events.
