Middlesbrough are amongst the clubs vying for free-scoring Falkirk striker Lyle Taylor.

The 23-year-old former Bournemouth marksman scored 29 goals in the Scottish First Division last term having previously begun his career with Millwall.

London-born Taylor only arrived at Falkirk last July and preceded to grab a hat-trick on his debut in a 7-3 Ramsdens Challenge Cup defeat to the Teessiders.

He continued that sort of form once the season got properly underway with his 29 goals in 42 games including two more hat-tricks and five doubles.

“We have to be honest, every player has their price, but I’m not looking to lose anyone,” Falkirk manager Gary Holt admitted in the Evening Gazette. “Lyle has had a phenomenal season and it’s no wonder a striker with his record has caught their attention. But there’s been nothing concrete received.”
