Middlesbrough have made a second offer for Sheffield Wednesday goalkeeper Keiren Westwood.
The Teessiders submitted an improved £4.5m bid and with the lure of an accompanying four-year deal; that in a renewed effort to take the Republic of Ireland international to the Riverside, reports the Northern Echo.
Boro already had a £5m approach for Newcastle United’s Karl Darlow turned down last week, while another potential target, Sam Johnstone, appears bound for Aston Villa on loan from Manchester United
Wednesday previously rejected Boro’s opening £3m offer for Westwood at the start of the month.
