Middlesbrough’s Andy Halliday has signed a two-year contract extension at the Riverside.

The 21-year-old former Livingston player was originally brought in as an attacking wide-man but has shown his versatility while operating at left-back this season.

Since arriving on Teesside under former Boro boss Gordon Strachan back in August 2010, Halliday has made 32 appearances for the club while scoring twice.

The Glaswegian also spent an eight-game loan spell at League One side Walsall between November 2011 and January 2012.
