Middlesbrough striker Rudy Gestede is facing a spell on the sidelines after undergoing minor surgery on a leg injury during the international break.
The 28-year-old Benin international and recent Leeds United target is therefore set to miss a number of games, reports the Northern Echo, with no timescale yet placed on his return.
Gestede arrived at the Riverside in a £6m deal from Aston Villa in January and has scored once in six appearances this season – with three goals in 26 games overall.
Boro have already been without £9m striker Martin Braithwaite since the opening weekend of the campaign because of a hamstring injury. He should though return to training sometime next week.
