Boro Want Another AJ

Gareth Southgate has been alerted by reports that Andrew Johnson has been told he can leave Goodison Park..

David Moyes has told Andrew Johnson he can leave Goodison Park if the right offer comes in for the 27-year-old.

West Ham and Middlesbrough have been alerted to the news and are reportedly enquiring about his services.

Johnson joined Everton two years ago from Crystal Palace for £8.6million and if Boro or West Ham were to pursue their interest then that amount would tempt Everton to sell.

Does Gareth Southgate need another striker? In my opinion we already have four excellent strikers, we don’t need another front man to sit on the bench and get frustrated with the lack appearances.

Apparently Steve Gibson would welcome a move for AJ and he would be willing to give Southgate the cash to land the former England International.

Southgate’s new look Boro team with pace and power is slowly emerging as a force in the Premiere League and possibly with the purchase of Johnson we could be seeing some exciting football next season.

We might even get some penalties!

if tuncay is used in the midfield (he was brilliant playing through the middle for turkey in the euros) then i guess it would be good to get another striker. im not sure how good tom craddock is and whether he can cement a first team place. but yeah i reckon tuncay with a solid holding midfield such as digard or boateng would be brilliant

I totally agree.. Tuncay has got all the attributes to be a quality midfield player and has an eye for the goal too. I think if the price is not too much then we should go for Johnso (another Englishman in the team)

Would be a good buy but cant see it – I get the feeling he would rather a move back down south. Would still play Tuncay up top because he hasn’t got the discipline to track other midifelders and is best at closing down up front when he has no-one specific to mark, would be a huge luxury in the midfield and would need Downing and Johnson to track back alot more than we would want our wingers to.

better than the fat peice of ***** called ‘mido’ haha . johnson would be good for a team like boro . although u dont seem to get many forward he would find it v.difficult

so says the man whose team went backward position wise last season 🙂

  • TheSlaven says:

Fat?! He’s lost 14kgs! I’ll say it now.. Mido will score more than 15 goals for us next season, 1 against Spurs on the opening day! Ha!

  • Just-an-Ipswich-fan says:

Strikers are not what you need right now – you’ve got Alves, Aliadiare, Tuncay, Mido, and more… you need a creative, exciting midfielder (brazilian) and a defender, and a goalie

J-A-I-F…….i agree that we dont need a striker and need to bolster the midfield, however we dont need a defender because we have cover for all areas in defence – we have alot of players for each position. We do however need to get rid of Brad Jones.

I disagree with that comment on Tuncay. He hasnt got the mentality to track other midfield players? Tuncay has been playing all over the midfield his entire career! For Fenerbache he was playing left, attacking central, right, and sometimes striker. I bet you didnt know, he actually played in the midfield more than he did upfront, and still scored the same amount of goals he got for us being the second striker last year. Tuncay closes down all over the pitch… THAT my friend means he has the discipline to track other players.

  • marron says:

Boro Crazy Tom, but he has not played in the centre of midfield where he has more responsibilty to track back. Shawky, O’Neil and Digard aren’t in the same mould as Boateng and Cattermole cant be given the same responsibility straight away to cover for Tuncay when he loses his man.

he needed to lose 14 aswell. mido was good the 1st season he played for spurs then he had the darren anderton ‘sick’ note and i think more like 8 goals next year and an own goal opening game ! we may of underacheived last year but still finished above u lot !
