Middlesbrough would reportedly need to find £7.5m to sign Swansea City centre-back Kyle Bartley.

The 26-year-old was a leading performer while serving under Boro’s new boss Garry Monk when on loan to Leeds United last season.

Championship rivals Leeds understandably remain keen to keep him at Elland Road – and Monk would also like to bring him to the Riverside, with a £7.5m fee probably needed to secure his services, according to the Evening Gazette.

They also mention Leeds left-back Charlie Taylor as a possible target for Boro, although both Crystal Palace and West Bromwich Albion are already in the race.

Liverpool winger Ryan Kent and Blackburn Rovers’ Connor Mahoney are other names currently doing the rounds.
