Middlesbrough boss Garry Monk isn’t unduly concerned by their current standing in the Championship.

Boro are without a victory in three games and eleventh in the table following sixteen points from their opening eleven fixtures.

“At this stage people like to look at league tables,” Monk told BBC Tees. “It’s a waste of energy at this point.

“It’s about what we’re doing on a daily basis, it’s about the next game that’s important and maximising that,” he insisted. “At the end of the season we’ll see where we lie because that’s the most important part.”

The Teessiders are back in league action this weekend at Barnsley.
