Middlesbrough head coach Aitor Karanka has blamed himself following a second loss in four days.

The Teessiders latest defeat against play-off hopefuls Reading followed on from their disappointing recent reversal at home to relegation-threatened Millwall.

“It’s my fault. I wasn’t able to motivate my players,” Karanka admitted to BBC Tees. “Against Millwall and the same today we saw two teams who wanted to win and one team that didn’t. I am learning every day about the league and the players, everything.”

Boro had actually won their previous four games while moving up to eighth but now find themselves thirteenth in the table.
