Middlesbrough full-back Frazer Richardson has moved on loan to Ipswich Town until the end of the season.

The 31-year-old arrived at the Riverside in the summer after being released by Southampton and has appeared eleven times – but not since the defeat at Leeds United in late November.

Richardson totals more than 300 senior games in a career that has also taken in spells at Leeds, Charlton Athletic and Stoke City.

“He’s a terrific pro,” Ipswich boss Mick McCarthy told BBC Radio Suffolk. “I actually tried to sign him for Sunderland when he was at Leeds and I’m delighted to have him here.

“He’s a fit lad and he played against us for Middlesbrough and I thought he played really well so I was surprised he was available.”
