Championship newcomers Rotherham United have snapped up former Middlesbrough full-back Frazer Richardson on a two-year deal.

The 31-year-old began his career with Leeds United and also enjoyed spells at Charlton Athletic and Southampton until finishing last season on loan to Ipswich Town.

Rotherham-born Richardson managed only eleven appearances for the Teessiders after arriving in August of last year. He then featured seven times for the Portman Road club.

The Millers’ latest signing joins up with his new team-mates next week for the start of pre-season training.
