Former Middlesbrough forward Tuncay Sanli has been linked with a return to the Riverside.
The 32-year-old is currently a free-agent having played for Bursaspor last season after a spell with Fenerbahce.
Tuncay left Boro following their relegation from the Premier League five years ago. He made 78 appearances and scored eighteen goals during a two-year stay.
The Teessiders have already missed out on Lewis Grabban and Adam Le Fondre – who have joined Norwich City and Cardiff City respectively – and are still looking to increase forward options.
