Watford have emerged as rivals with Middlesbrough for Sunderland striker Danny Graham.
The Hornets want their 28-year-old former marksman either on loan or in a permanent arrangement.
Gateshead-born Graham had a decent enough loan spell at Boro last term while scoring six times in 18 appearances.
That followed his career faltering badly when thirteen scoreless games for Sunderland prompted a similar struggle on loan at Hull City – before a return to the club where he originally started out as a trainee.
Graham actually netted 41 goals in 98 games during a two-year stay at Watford, until a £3.5m move to Swansea City in June 2011.
