Middlesbrough defender Seb Hines is readying himself for a “massive” game against Leeds United this coming weekend.

The 24-year-old was a boyhood fan of the Elland Road club after growing up in nearby Wetherby. Indeed most of his family and friends still remain supporters of the West Yorkshire club and he admits there could be some divided loyalties from them on the day.

“It is a massive game for me personally,” Hines told the Evening Gazette. “It’s a derby game for me. All my friends and family supported Leeds so it is a bit of a special game for me.

“Leeds United were my team when I was growing up,” he confessed. “All of my friends and family were Leeds fans at school so naturally I was too. A lot of my family will be at the game and a fair few of them will have split loyalties.”
