Middlesbrough head coach Aitor Kranka was satisfied following the 4-0 victory over Real Balompedica Linense in Marbella.

Lee Tomlin earned a narrow advantage at the break having both won and converted a penalty., Bradley Fewster, Luke Williams and Grant Leadbitter then added further efforts.

“I am pleased with that performance, I felt they played like the team I had last season and they played like I want them to,” Karanka told the Evening Gazette. “We know we can play well and that’s why I am sad when we don’t do on the pitch the things we should.

“The performance was very good, I know the team we played has only been training for five or six days but the team we played on Wednesday had only training for two days and we lost to them,” he added. “We showed how we can play when we are organised, when we have the right attitude and when we concentrate.”

Boro complete their week-long stay on Monday with a friendly against Lisbon outfit Athletico Clube de Portugal (10am UK).
