Middlesbrough continue their promotion push when hosting Barnsley at the Riverside on Saturday afternoon (kick-off 3.00pm).

In-form striker Patrick Bamford is a doubt due to a hamstring problem, having scored seven goals in his last four appearances.

Recent signing Mo Besic and left-back George Friend are also carrying slight knocks and must be assessed before kick-off.

Otherwise, skipper Grant Leadbitter is ruled out by suspension, while striker Rudy Gestede [ankle] is already sidelined for the season, and defender Fabio da Silva [thigh] continuing his own recovery.

Barnsley could recall defender Adam Jackson, who suffered concussion during their recent 1-1 draw with Hull City.

Fellow defender Matt Mills [ankle] has previously missed their last three games.
