Middlesbrough attempt to move back into the play-off positions when hosting Queens Park Rangers at the Riverside this weekend.

However, they must do so without winger Adama Traore, who begins a three-match suspension having been sent-off against former club Aston Villa in midweek.

The Teessiders are also still deprived of attacking summer recruits Rudy Gestede [thigh] and Martin Braithwaite [hamstring].

Rangers could recall striker Matt Smith after coming off the bench to score in the midweek 2-2 draw with local rivals Millwall.

However, Grant Hall, Joel Lynch, James Perch and Jordan Cousins are all currently unavailable for the visitors.

Championship newcomers Boro are yet to concede at home this season and target a fifth successive clean-sheet in all competitions.
