Middlesbrough play host to Sheffield United in their opening home league game of the season late on Saturday afternoon (kick-off 5.30pm).

Manager Garry Monk has again been active in the transfer market with midfielder Marten de Roon heading back to former club Atalanta, while fellow schemer Lewis Baker has arrived at the Riverside on a season-long loan deal from Chelsea.

However, Adam Forshaw could return to the side this weekend, and striker Patrick Bamford is also pushing for inclusion having replaced Ashley Fletcher during the slender opening day defeat at Wolves.

Fellow newcomers Darren Randolph, Cyrus Christie, Jonny Howson, Martin Braithwaite and Britt Assombalonga were also awarded debuts at Molineux.

The Blades have a doubt over former Bradford City striker James Hanson (hamstring), while Ched Evans is targeting a first start since returning in the summer.
