Middlesbrough don’t yet know if midfielder Josh McEachran will be available to face parent club Chelsea in the FA Cup fifth round later this month.
The European champions sealed a meeting with Boro after easily accounting for League One Brentford 4-0 in their fourth round replay yesterday.
The eventual winners of that tie were then paired with a trip to either Manchester United or Reading in the quarter-finals of the competition.
England Under-21 international midfielder McEachran is currently on a season-long loan at the Riverside from Chelsea.
“I don’t know the rules, conditions or agreements,” commented Blues boss Rafael Benitez in the Northern Echo when asked if he could prevent McEachran from facing his side.

I’d assume that he can’t face Chelsea. Other clubs could also have objections to such a situation.
As a Chelsea fan, I’d want to play against us so i can witness how far he has improved during his loan spell.
