Midfielder Adam Clayton has signed a contract extension with Middlesbrough.

The 28-year-old enforcer already made 26 appearances for the Teessiders this season.

His existing deal had been due to run through to the summer of 2018, but he now stays with the club until 2021.

Clayton originally joined Boro from Huddersfield Town in August 2014 and has played over a century of games for them, while including an earlier spell with Leeds United.
