Former Middlesbrough boss Garry Monk has been appointed as the new manager of Birmingham City.
The 38-year-old therefore faces an immediate clash with his previous employers as Boro visit St Andrew’s on Tuesday evening.
Monk has agreed a three-and-a-half-year deal in succession to Steve Cotterill, who was sacked after a fifth straight league defeat at the weekend.
He is joined by Pep Clotet, his assistant at both Swansea City and Leeds United, and regular coach James Beattie.
Birmingham are currently a couple of places off the foot of the table.
