Middlesbrough must come out of the latest international break properly firing says manager Garry Monk.

The Teessiders have rather lost ground while remaining without a victory in their previous three games, including a couple of frustrating home performances.

“The last international break we talked about needing improvements and they came, this international break we need to look to correct and make further improvements,” Monk told the Northern Echo. “We need to come out firing like we did last time.

“We started pretty well in the first few minutes against Brentford, but maybe the anxiety comes from the players to get that first goal quickly,” he added. “Maybe we lose a bit of confidence when it doesn’t come. We have to stay patient and confident that it will come. We will work on that. The players are fully aware of that.”

Boro are next due to visit Barnsley on Saturday-week.
