A productive first series of talks means Middlesbrough will hold further discussions with out-of-contract Wolverhampton Wanderers striker Sylvan Ebanks-Blake when he returns from holiday next month.

The 27-year-old one-time Manchester United trainee scored fifteen goals for the relegated Championship outfit last season but has already been told he won’t be receiving a new deal at Molineux.

However, Ebanks-Blake isn’t currently short of admirers with Reading, Ipswich Town and Leeds United also keenly watching his situation.

Boro manager Tony Mowbray is determined to improve his available goal-power having already lost on loan striker Ishmael Miller from last season’s squad.
