Middlesbrough manager Tony Mowbray has hailed the impact of midfielder Grant Leadbitter at the Riverside.
The former Sunderland and Ipswich Town schemer has become an increasingly influential performer through a series of strong displays since arriving on a free transfer during the summer.
“Leadbitter is a great lad,” Mowbray told the Evening Gazette. “He is a hard-working and honest professional footballer who sets himself and the team high standards.
“I’m delighted he plays for us. I think he is one of those boys who gives you his maximum every week,” he added. “He has a high level of consistency in his quality play and let’s hope we can keep him fit and keep him going.”
