Middlesbrough manager Tony Mowbray has vowed to attack against visitors Derby County at the Riverside later this evening.

Boro supporters will certainly be looking for a major boost after witnessing Leicester City handing their side a first home defeat of the season at the weekend.

“When I picked the team to play Leicester I was aware we were going to be a bit short at the top end,” Mowbray admitted to Boro’s official website. “It was like some of our games last season, because that thrust and speed we tried to add in the summer was not available for us.

“We go into tonight’s game with no fresh players back but we’ll see if we can come up with a way of creating more opportunities and be more attack-minded and hopefully we can score a few goals,” he added.

Derby’s recent record on Teesside is absolutely dreadful with six successive defeats, although they did enjoy a narrow 1-0 weekend victory over local rivals Nottingham Forest at the City Ground.
