Middlesbrough manager Tony Mowbray was fighting hard to even make tonight’s game at Nottingham Forest.

The Boro chief has missed the last couple of days of training after being laid low by a virus. He was immediately told to stay away to prevent it from spreading amongst the squad.

“He came in and seen the doctor to see if there’s anything he can take for a virus,” first-team coach and former Forest midfielder Mark Proctor told the Northern Echo. “He wanted to stay away from the lads so it didn’t spread. He will come in on Tuesday to travel to the Forest game, he will be fine, I’m sure.”

Boro will be aiming for a seventh straight victory at the City Ground ahead of entertaining Sheffield Wednesday on Friday evening.
