Middlesbrough manager Tony Mowbray was simply grateful for the victory after coming away with a favourable 3-2 scoreline from bottom-of-the-table Peterborough United.

Recalled midfielder Faris Haroun appeared to put the visitors in complete control with two goals inside the opening twenty minutes. But their opponents fought back to level and it required a 76th minute winner from substitute Ishmael Miller to finally decide the contest.

“I’ve just said to the players that at Cardiff and Birmingham we were totally dominant and lost matches,” Mowbray told Boro’s official website. “Today we played against a team who were probably better with the ball than us but we won it.

“We didn’t pound their goal but one bit of magic form Ishmael was enough to hopefully make it an enjoyable trip back home for our supporters,” he added. “A huge thank you to all of them for coming and giving us such magnificent backing.”
