Middlesbrough are going for a third successive victory when visiting Nottingham Forest this weekend.

Back-to-back triumphs for the Teessiders against Burton Albion and Sheffield United, with clean-sheets maintained in each game, witnesses them currently fourth in the very early Championship table – though only on goal-difference from their latest opponents.

Striker Britt Assombalonga comes up against his former club for the first time, while Daniel Ayala (ankle) may return to face a side he previously appeared for on loan.

However, summer recruit Martin Braithwaite (hamstring) remains sidelined for the visitors.

Forest are still without midfielder Chris Cohen (knee) but goalkeeper Stephen Henderson (Achilles) could make the bench following a length absence.

Otherwise, Jamie Ward and Matty Cash are both long-term absentees.
