Middlesbrough manager Tony Mowbray believes striker Scott McDonald is well-capable of continuing to fire their promotion challenge.
The 29-year-old took his own personal tally to seven goals in just eleven games this season courtesy of a double in the 3-0 victory against Huddersfield Town.
He had earlier appeared set to leave the club until being recalled into the side at Watford early last month – and immediately celebrated with a goal.
“What he brings as well as his goals is a work ethic, a successful team has a work ethic from the front,” Mowbray told the Northern Echo. “People can talk about his goals but a coach’s eye sees the unselfish side … the tackling, the tracking back he does for the team. It was a real honest performance from him.”
