Manager Tony Pulis believes the referee got it wrong when sending-off Rudy Gestede during the 1-0 defeat at Norwich City.
Home midfielder Tom Trybull scored the only goal after Boro’s striker had received a straight red card for an adjudged lunge at Grant Hanley. He’d already been cautioned by Mike Jones for a high foot a few minutes earlier.
“Up until the sending off we’ve created the better opportunities and the better chances,” Pulis tokd BBC Tees. “The sending off – I’ve just watched it three or four times – Rudy goes into the challenge but plays the ball. [Grant] Hanley then follows in after Rudy has played the ball.
“I’ve seen challenges this week in the Premier League that have been 10 times worse than that challenge and they haven’t been shown red cards.”
