Middlesbrough are set to be boosted by the return of skipper Rhys Williams for their weekend visit to Leeds United.

The Australian international has been out of action since damaging ankle ligaments during the Capital One Cup victory at Gillingham back in late August.

However, following a sixteen-week absence the 24-year-old appears ready to make the eighteen-man squad for Elland Road – providing there are no fresh problems in training.

Williams had been due to make his comeback against Wolverhampton Wanderers last weekend until a scheduled behind-closed-doors game at Rockliffe Park was cancelled due to the frozen conditions the previous day.
