Middlesbrough striker Lukas Jutkiewicz is really looking to bounce back after a frustrating season last time around.

The 24-year-old is ready for action a year since breaking down with a serious knee injury at the equivalent stage of the previous campaign. That in turn found him rather struggling for consistency over the following months.

“I’m really happy that I’m fully fit and, fingers crossed, it will stay that way,” Jutkiewicz told the Evening Gazette. “There’s no doubt last summer was extremely frustrating. I was feeling good and enjoying training than, out of the blue, suffered a bad injury just three days after we reported back.

“That really set me back and, I suppose, may be the main reason why I didn’t reach the standards I set for myself last season,” he continued. “You end up playing catch-up when you miss pre-season and I was probably guilty of trying to come back too soon from an injury.”

Former Coventry City and Everton marksman Jutkiewicz still helped himself to ten goals in 26 appearances for the Teessiders last term.
