West Brom look to avoid a third straight defeat when Arsenal visit the Hawthorns for early kick off on Saturday. Three defeats in four for the Gunners has seen them drop to fifth and at risk of failing to even make it into a Champions League place, which is five points away before this game.
A third successive Crystal Palace win would ensure Palace remain outside of the bottom three whatever the other results. Watford head to Selhurst Park knowing a fourth game without a win could see the Hornets at risk of being drawn into the relegation battle.
Everton would have played three more games than Manchester United but a Toffees win at Goodison Park against Hull would take them above the Red Devils into sixth. City’s victory last weekend took them to within a point of safety with another on Merseyside potentially taking them out of the bottom three.
The impressive Stoke home form will be challenged by champions elect Chelsea. The Potters’ bid to finish in the top 10 would be boosted with a victory over the Blues who will be looking to at least maintain a 10 points lead they hold going into the weekend.
One victory in the last 10 – with the last three lost – has seen Sunderland slip to the foot of the Premier League some six points from safety. Burnley haven’t won in five – and not at all away from home this season – but would see the visit to the Stadium of Light as a good chance to achieve this.
West Ham are looking to avoid a third straight defeat – having failed to win in four – when improving Leicester head to the London Stadium. Successive wins have taken the Foxes – who had the impressive Champions League win secured in midweek too – three points clear of trouble.
A Bournemouth win a week ago could prove the turning point for the Cherries and enough to ensure another season of Premier League football. Swansea are at Dean Court for the late kick off looking for a win to remain at least three points clear of the relegation zone.
The first of a hat trick of games on Sunday will kick off at midday at the Riverside Stadium with Middlesbrough – who parted company with Aitor Karanka this week – hosting Manchester United. Having slipped to second bottom Boro face a United side who are still chasing a Champions League spot.
A runners up position is looking the best bet for Tottenham but any hopes of pushing Chelsea would be reliant on a victory against Southampton. Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino will face his former Saints side who are looking for a third straight victory that could take them up to ninth.
Manchester City have won four of the last six – all unbeaten – but suffered the disappointment of a Champions League to exit on Wednesday. Liverpool head to the Etihad Stadium knowing a third straight win would take them above City and potentially as high as second.
It goes without saying the expectation; most definitely the hope at least, will be for a positive result. But will this happen? We’ll find out soon enough.
