Middlesbrough are now four games without a goal following their latest scoreless home draw with Blackburn Rovers.

Boro made four changes with new recruit Danny Graham being included in attack while there were also recalls for skipper Jonathan Woodgate, Jozsef Varga and Dean Whitehead.

Kenneth Omeruo, Jacob Butterfield and Curtis Main moved to the bench alongside a fit-again Albert Adomah and Daniel Ayala was expected to be out for around a month with ankle trouble.

But it was Mustapha Carayol soon supplying a dangerous cross and then bringing a fine stop from Rovers’ ex-England goalkeeper Paul Robinson.

The attacking George Friend next delivered invitingly as the home side bossed the action, while Robinson again kept out Carayol before Rudy Gestede was narrowly wide at the other end.

Boro continued to press after the break and Friend saw another dangerous ball in deflected wide before Robinson blocked Carayol’s low shot with his legs.

Home substitute Adomah later saw a twenty-yard effort deflected over while Rovers struggled to create too much in reply as the honours remained shared.
