Middlesbrough head coach Aitor Karanka said they must remain positive following the defeat at Stoke City.

Two first-half goals from Austrian international Marko Arnautovic were enough to send the visitors into the bottom three of the table for the first time this season.

“In this kind of moment we need to be positive,” Karanka insisted to BBC Sport. “We have to know we have done good things so far.

“We have to keep believing in this group of players. Until the last day we will keep fighting,” he promised. “We are in the bottom three and we need to work harder to leave those positions.”
