We will keep believing – Ameobi

On loan forward Sammy Ameobi believes Middlesbrough can still make the play-offs if they can fully rediscover their touch in front of goal.

That certainly deserted them last night as they were held to a scoreless draw by lowly Peterborough United at the Riverside. It means Boro have won only twice in fifteen league games this year, to leave them still six points outside the top six in the table.

“It was disappointing and frustrating for us up front,” Ameobi told the Evening Gazette. “There must have been 10 good chances and we really should have put the game to bed in the first half but we just weren’t clinical enough.

“That cost us two big points in the end – but the goals will come,” he continued. ‘As a striker you have to keep believing they will come. The more chances you create, the more chance you have of scoring and sooner or later one will go in.”
