Middlesbrough are taking on Championship leaders Wolverhampton Wanderers later this afternoon at the Riverside (kick-off 5.30pm).

Boro are currently sixth in the table but with a quartet of pursuing challengers separated by only a couple of points with eight games remaining.

Defender Daniel Ayala appears set to continue for the hosts after recovering from a groin injury, therefore leaving striker Rudy Gestede [ankle] and defender Fabio da Silva [thigh] as their only absentees.

Adama Traore, Mo Besic and Dael Fry have each returned from international duty unscathed.

Wolves also have no fresh selection issues following the break, although top scorer Diogo Jota [ankle] is still ruled out.

The visitors are currently six points clear and recognise that four more victories would be sufficient to guarantee their Premier League return.

However, they’ve never won at the Riverside, with their opponents remaining unbeaten in the last twenty-five meetings.
