Manager Tony Mowbray believes Middlesbrough can still attract top loan talent to the Riverside.
It follows Boro last season taking on the likes of Josh McEachran from Chelsea, Nottingham Forest striker Ishmael Miller and Sammy Ameobi of Newcastle United.
“If you are a foreign player coming from Africa or Southern Europe, you might want to stay in and around London,” Mowbray told the Evening Gazette. “Probably the thought of the North-east isn’t too attractive.
“But if you are a hardened professional player who knows the leagues, who knows this football club I’m sure they`d have no problem,” he added. “The key sometimes is to get them to Rockliffe and let them have a look around and show them the facilities here and that does sell our football club to most players.”
