Middlesbrough are in the west-country this weekend with a visit to the Championship’s bottom club Bristol City.

Manager Tony Mowbray could decide to recall former England man Kieron Dyer after he was rested for the late midweek defeat at Huddersfield Town.

Defenders Andre Bikey and Stuart Parnaby miss out with hamstring problems while Jonathan Woodgate (calf) was again not expected to feature. Justin Hoyte (hip) and Lukas Jutkiewicz (ankle ligaments) are similarly absentees.

“We’ve been getting over the disappointment of the Huddersfield game and we’ve got to be ready now for the next one,” Mowbray told Boro’s official website. “Results over the last couple of months have put us in this position. And we’ve now got a real battle on our hands to finish in a play-off place.

“There are no easy games, as we know – in their last five home games Bristol City have won four and drawn one,” he continued. “But we go there trying to get positive and aiming to get three points. We’ve had two good results there since I returned to the club and we’re looking for a hat-trick of victories.”

The Robins hope to have the experienced Louis Carey available after shaking-off a knee injury but fellow defender Richard Foster (Achilles) and striker Ryan Taylor (shoulder) remain out.
