Middlesbrough travel to take on Derby County at Pride Park looking to continue their challenge of the leaders in the Championship.

Boro are without on loan England Under-21 international Josh McEachran due to an ankle problem while George Friend, Andre Bikey and Seb Hines also miss out with hamstring injuries.

Meanwhile, Justin Hoyte, Emmanuel Ledesma and Faris Haroun will all have late checks but longer-term casualties Julio Arca (toe), Curtis Main (knee) and Muzzy Carayol (knee) remain sidelined.

“Derby have been up and down but at home they’ve had some great results and they showed when they played here that they can be a threat,” manager Tony Mowbray told Boro’s official website. “They got a draw at the Riverside – even though the equaliser was an offside goal.

“They’re a youthful team with lots of energy and they’re a very honest, hardworking side,” he added. “It’s going to be a day for keeping our concentration and doing our jobs.”

Derby are without forward Jamie Ward with a recurrence of a hamstring injury and midfielder Craig Bryson is doubtful with a knee problem.

But Mark O’Brien has shaken-off a groin strain and could start.
