Stewart Downing returned from injury tonight, playing 65 minutes in Middlesbrough Reserves 4-1 win over Sunderland.
Stewart assisted a goal while Tom Craddock, Adam Johnson, Massimo Maccarone and Jason Kennedy completed the scoring.
Although starting off rusty, naturally the left winger got into the game with his first attack being a decent one. Downing will be working hard in training to get his fitness levels back up to allow himself to be selected for the Arsenal match, where he will more than likely take his place on the bench before being a second half substitute.
