The Boro boss is happy with his current squad, which look set to finish in the bottom half of the league this season.
Talking to the Evening Gazette, he said ‘I don’t think we need to make the widespread changes we made over the last couple of years’.
I agree with Southgate. He now has a strong squad to choose from full of experience and youth to call upon when needed.
The quality of the squad is the best it’s been in years. If Southgate is to dip into the transfer market, then I can see him only buying one or two players, maximum.
It’s looking very exciting for next season already and we haven’t even finished this one.
The number of quality strikers we now have at the club is astonishing considering we have had only two or three good ones at any one time in the past.
