Judgement Day For Xavier

Uefa will hear the case of Abel Xavier this Wednesday.

The 32 year old defender tested positive drugs and a Uefa statement stated: ‘The control and disciplinary body inflicted a provisional suspension on the player on 14 October. The same authority will deal with the merits of the case on 23 November,’

Xavier will face Uefa’s control and disciplinary board and could be facing up to a 12-month ban from the game.

The Uefa statement ended: ‘No further comments will be made in this case until a decision of first instance is communicated to the player.’
