boro have completed the £3 million transfer of Justin Hoyte from Arsenal.
Hoyte, 23, was unveiled to the Boro crowd before kick-off after finalising his move from the Gunners over Friday night and early on Saturday morning. Having only played 61 league games he isnt the most experienced but his signing is yet another indication of the kind of team Southgate is trying to build – young, energetic and hungry.
Well done to all concerned with finalising the transfer and welcome to smoggy land Justin!
*On a personal note, when the announcer said ‘please welcome our new signing’ i expected a mascot would walk out of the tunnel as i hadnt heard the deal had been done yet. Seeing Hoyte walk out was 100 times better than it would have been seeing a lion walking out!

Aliadiere has been an absolute bargain for us, works his socks off, creates goals, chips in with goals and has a brilliant attitude. Hopefully Hoyte will do well for us.

You’ve got a good player on your hands and I wouldn’t be surprised to see him in the England set up some day if he gets the games he deserves but wasn’t likely to get at Arsenal with Sagna ahead of him. And congrats on beating a top four club (in their own minds) today! Great performance, should have been 3-0.
Good lad is Justin, athletic, strong and quick – as Lou said it is sad to see him go as he was a model professional. Best thing for him was this move. He will do superbly for you guys
Its a good signing for Boro, coz Hoyte will be solid at RB ! Nothing spectacular, but he does offer something going forward, although he will struggle a bit to deal with the really pacy wingers.
