Head coach Aitor Karanka insists his Middlesbrough side must build upon their second-half display against Tottenham Hotspur.
South Korean forward Heung-Min Son gave the visitors a two-goal advantage at the interval that was later reduced by centre-back Ben Gibson as the Teessiders slipped to a third successive defeat at the Riverside.
“We knew that we couldn’t make the same mistakes we did last weekend against Everton,” Karanka told Boro’s official website. “The first half was frustrating because this week we’ve been working really hard on the training ground.
“The second half was completely different and it’s a good example of the team we want to be,” he added. “If we play like the second half team we will win games.”
